Employee Leaves of Absence/FMLA
In accordance with Federal law, Wyandotte Public Schools shall provide up to twelve (12) weeks (sixty (60) working days) of unpaid FMLA to eligible employees. Eligibility for benefits under the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) requires that employees have worked a minimum of 1250 hours in a "rolling" twelve (12) month period measured backward from the date of any FMLA leave usage.
Federal law does not provide for paid time off. Paid time is covered by union collective bargaining agreements, work agreements, and district policy.
