Special Education K-12 Services Mission Statement The Special Education Department is committed to educating students, who qualify under the Michigan Special Education Rules, to their maximum potential, educationally, socially and vocationally. If a parent suspects a student has an academic and/or behavioral problem that interferes with learning, please contact your child's teacher or the building principal to discuss the need for a pre-referral and/or testing. The need for intervention services may be assessed before a child enters school. This is particularly important with speech and language delays or delays in development. If you have questions about your 0-5 year old child's development, please contact your speech and language therapist or school psychologist.
