ac-kid-emic spotlight - The News Herald 2004/2005

Sophia Patrick, 7, of Wyandotte is the ac-kid-emic spotlight pupil of the week.

She was nominated by her second-grade teacher, Tiffany Tittle, at McKinley Elementary School of Wyandotte.

Sophia is the daughter of Brian and Gina Patrick, and has two sisters, Brianna and Rose.  She also has three dogs named Autumn, Chloe and Bear and a cat named Maya.

Her favorite subject is math because she "likes to add and subtract," she said.

"Sophia is excelling in all subject areas of school, " her teacher said.  She has a great attitude and shows a lot of effort in her work.  She also portrays perseverance and responsibility."

Sophia would like to be an Egyptologist someday, or a funeral director, she said.

As the student of the week, she'll receive a four-pack of movie passes to any MJR Theatre or Southgate Cinema 20 and a free class session at the Southgate YMCA Fitness Centre.
