Jill
Scribner, 10, of Wyandotte is the ac-kid-emic spotlight pupil of the week.
She was nominated by Ericka Rhodehouse, her fifth-grade teacher at Washing Elementary School, Wyandotte.
Jill is the daughter of Steve Scribner and Laura Scribner and stepdaughter of Robert Snyder-Pitts. She is the sister of Michelle Scribner, Skylar Snyder-Pitts and Cameron Snyder-Pitts.
The family has two snakes, one bird, two dogs, two gerbils and two cats. "Jill loves science", her teacher said. "She likes learning why things work the way they do."
She's an all-A student, a peer mediator for her school and participates in swimming, basketball, and an afterschool book club, as well as playing the guitar.
Someday Jill would like to be a write or a teacher, she said.
As the student of the week, Jill will receive a four-pack of movies passes to any MJR Theater or Southgate Cinema 20 and a free class session at the Downriver Family YMCA.
