September 5, 2008 vs. Redford Union
Victory over Redford Union was the 1st in the MEGA White Division! Top
performers were: Zack Morelli, AJ Sowards, Kyle Timmis & Dustin
Wright.
September 19, 2008 vs. Trenton
The Bears met the challenge and defeated a very good Trenton football team
on Friday. The game was very exciting. The Bears needed a 16
play drive to secure the victory. Adam Borbely scored the winning
touchdown on a 6 yard run with 1:27 left on the clock. The defense
came in and sealed the deal. Kyle Timmis had an outstanding game
throwing 2 touchdown passes and rushing for another.
October 10, 2008 vs. Lincoln Park
The Wyandotte Bears locked up their 3rd straight MEGA White Title Friday
night with a 54 to 7 victory over the Lincoln Park Railsplitters. top
performers were Kyle Timmis with 2 touchdown passes; Andrew Matt who caught
the 2 touchdown passes; and AJ Sowards who played extremely well on defense.
It was a big Homecoming victory where everyone had a chance to play.
The Bears take on MEGA Red opponent Taylor Truman this Friday night at
Truman. This will be an important game that will help the Bears
prepare for the playoffs. Go Bears!
November 7, 2008 vs. Southgate
The Bears defeated Southgate 20-17 for the District Championship on Friday
night. There was a huge crowd on hand to witness the Bears defense
shut down Southgate's quarterback, Kyle Wentzel and the Titans. The
Bears held the Titans to 136 yards total offense. Zach Morelli, Daniel
Sheets, Chris Trevino, and Todd Sowards all played extremely well. The
offense was able to put up 20 points in the first half. Adam Borbely
had two rushing touchdowns and Andrew Matt scored on a touchdown pass from
Kyle Timmis. The Titans tried to make a comeback late in the game, but
their onside kick attempt was recovered by Alex Sweet and the Bears were
able to run out the clock. The Bears tied a school record for
victories in a season with 10. The Bears travel to Southfield for the
Regional Championship Game this Saturday at 1 pm. Go Bears!!!
