ac-kid-emic spotlight - The News Herald 3/26/2006

Montana Klepsch, 9, of Wyandotte is the ac-kid-emic spotlight pupil of the week.

See was nominated by Kathleen Powell, her fourth-grade teacher at Taft Elementary School of Wyandotte.

Montana is the daughter of Melinda Borden and William Klepsch, and the step-daughter of Jerry Borden.  She has two siblings, Austin and Hailee.

She likes science better than all her other school subjects, although she is an "all A" student who excels in whatever she studies, her teacher said.

"You get to do a lot of experiments in science," Montana said.

She also participates in her church, drama, choir, chess club and math club.

What would she like to do in the future?  "I love science and math," Montana said. "I would want to do something in those areas."

And she offered thanks to her teachers for encouraging her to do well.

As the student of the week, Montana will receive a four-pack of movie passes to any MJR Theatre or Southgate Cinema 20 and a free class session at the Southgate YMCA Fitness Center.
