Who she is: Marsha Hensley is a third-grade teacher at
Garfield Elementary School in Wyandotte.
Background: This will be Hensley’s eighth year of
teaching.
Why nominated: Hensley has the ability to get students
excited about learning and makes all of her students feel very smart
and special. Her success is proven year after year, as she teaches
exemplary math lessons so that all students grasp the concepts. She
also motivates every student to read well. Hensley is excited about
learning and models that for her students. Nothing is too much work
if it makes a difference for her students.
She says: “I love teaching my students, working in
Wyandotte, and at Garfield Elementary School. My students are so
great, it makes my job so much fun.”
