Who she is: Kelly Kazmierski teaches fifth grade at Taft
Elementary School in Wyandotte.
Background: Kazmierski received her degree from Wayne
State University. She began her student teaching at Taft Elementary
School six years ago. She has been a teacher and science specialist
for five years.
Why nominated: Kazmierski is always looking for new ways
to help her students. She comes up with fun and creative lesson
plans that help to capture her students’ attention. She is always
willing to work with a student who is having trouble, even coming in
early or staying late sometimes. Kazmierski is a valuable member of
the staff at Taft Elementary and a leader among her peers.
She says: “Getting the chance to help shape these
students’ future has always been a rewarding experience.”
