Jacob Bowlby, Jefferson Elementary School

Who he is: Jacob Bowlby, 10, is a fourth-grader in Wyandotte.

Background: Jacob is the son of Kevin and Denise Bowlby of Wyandotte. He has a sister, Alice.

Why nominated: Jacob is a student who strives to do his very best in every endeavor. He can always bring light to a situation and a smile to someone's face. He works well with others and is a team leader. Jacob has been on the honor roll and has also been recognized at school for his caring nature. He completes all of his assignments on time and is often found working ahead. He is willing to help his teacher out whenever he's needed and has a positive outlook on school.

He says: "My goals in life are getting an education and getting good grades."
