Chesney Ruston, 8 of Wyandotte is the ac-kid-emic spotlight pupil of the week.  She was nominated by Estelle Bresnahan, her third-grade teacher at Jefferson Elementary School of Wyandotte.

Chesney is the daughter of Shawn and Tracy Ruston and the sister of Delaney.  The family has a cat named Anastasia, a fish named
Dory and a guinea pig named Blackie.

The third-grader gets excellent marks in all her subjects, and is a "good citizen", as well, her teacher said.  Chesney's favorite subject in school is science.  "I like to learn about planets," she said.

She also plays the violin, and studies ballet, and jazz dancing.  She aspires to a career in the arts someday.  "I would like to be an artist because I like drawing," Chesney said.  "I'd like to be famous, like Leonardo Da Vinci,".

As the student of the week, Chesney will receive a four-pack of movie passes to any MJR Theater or Southgate Cinema 20 and a free class session at the Southgate YMCA Fitness Center.
