Ac-kid-emic Spotlight
Andrew Sweet, 8, of Wyandotte is the ac-kid-emic spotlight pupil of the week. He was nominated by Estelle Bresnahan, his third-grade teacher at Jefferson Elementary School of Wyandotte.

Andrew is the son of Chris and Bill Sweet, and the brother of Alex, 14. The family has a dog named Happy.
Andrew's favorite subject in school is science. "I like learning stuff and doing experiments," he said. He is a top-notch student who enjoys playing football and basketball in his spare time, his teacher said.
In the future, he hopes to be in front of a classroom. "I want to be a 10th grade science teacher," Andrew said. "It would be cool to teach older kids."
As the student of the week, Andrew will receive a four-pack of movie passes to any MJR Theater or Southgate Cinema 20 and a free class session at the Downriver Family YMCA.
