ac-kid-emic spotlight - The News Herald - February 6, 2008

Alea Kainz, 9 of Wyandotte is the ac-kid-emic spotlight pupil of the week.

She was nominated by Estelle Bresnahan, her fourth grade teacher at Jefferson Elementary School in Wyandotte.

Alea is the daughter of Bill and Carol Kainz and the sister of Alana, Arianna, and Alyssa.  The family has a dog named Zippie.

The pupil said her favorite subject in school is math.  "I like doing all the multiplication facts," she said.  She's on her school's honor roll for academic excellence.

"Alea is a great help in the classroom," her teacher said.  "She always strives to do her best."

The fourth grader enjoys playing basketball, soccer and softball, and would like to be a dentist when she grows up.  "I think it would be fun to check for cavities," Alea said.

As the student of the week, Alea will receive a four-pack of movie passes to any MJR Theatre or Southgate Cinema 20 and a free class session at the Downriver Family YMCA.
